Priest of Epoch Investment Partners in a paper in 2005 entitled The Case for Shareholder Yield as a Dominant Driver of Future Equity Returns. William Priest indicated that "shareholder yield is a term that we came up with to reflect the various ways dividends can be paid to owners of a business in a publicly-traded company."

The Company's Ready-mix concrete had 1,026 concrete plants in 33 countries as of December 31, 2014. The Company also produces asphalt in North America and the United Kingdom, and sells either as a stand-alone product, or in conjunction with contracted paving. The Company operates in Western Europe, North America, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia.
