Good morning. My name is Nicole Murphy, and I'm a Senior Consultant in the Frontline Effectiveness Team at CIBC. I would like to open our Bank's 2022 Annual General Meeting by acknowledging that the land from where I speak to you today in Medicine Hat, Alberta is the traditional territory of the Siksika, Pakuni, Dinan, [Donikoda] and Sutina Peoples as well as the Cree, Su and [Salto] bands of the Ojibwa and Metis peoples.

Today, Treaty 7 territory and the meeting place of Medicine Hat are home to many indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work in this community as a proud member of the Michel First Nations, located in Treaty 6 territory here in Alberta, it is deeply meaningful for me to offer this acknowledgment today to recognize the presence of First Nations, Metis and Inuit people in North America for thousands of years.

As a descendant of the Michel First Nation, our band was involuntarily enfranchised in 1958, and we are working towards recognition and reinstatement today. I am honored
