Is a private investment manager that operates as a subsidiary of Investors Group which, in turn, is a subsidiary member of the Power Financial Corporation group of companies. The company can trace its history back to 1926 when the parent company’s first Canadian office was established. The company would grow slowly, launching its first Canadian product, the Series One Installment Certificate, in 1940 and launching its first mutual fund in Canada in 1950. As the company grew it would expand its line of products and operations, launching its first international mutual fund in 1962 and launching its first offshore fund, the Investors Japanese Growth Fund, in 1971. The parent company Investors Group would become a company under Power Financial Corporation in 1986, and the company would continue with its expansion and establish an I.G. Investment Management office in Dublin in 1993. I.G. Investment Management continued a focus on expansion, opening up a new office in Hong Kong in 2000. The company now provides professional investment services to its parent company and other companies, offering a variety of funds and services. Currently, the company offers mutual funds, corporate class solutions, portfolio funds, money market funds, iProfile programs, Charitable Giving Programs, Investors Group Securities brokerage services, and guaranteed investment certificates. I.G. Investment Management utilizes a mixture of fundamental approach and quantitative analysis to make its investment decisions, focusing mainly on the financial sector, which alone makes up for over 40% of its total asset allocations. Some of the mutual funds that the company offers, with some available through its parent company and related subsidiaries, include the AGF Canadian Balacned Fund, FI Canadian Allocation Fund, Franklin Bissett Canadian Equity Fund, Investors North American Equity Fund, and Investors Global Science & Technology Fund, among others. The company has a current market value of over $26 billion as of 2015.
