- Reticulate Micro Inc. (RMXI, Financial) has been selected for a grant-funded initiative to advance semi-autonomous underground mining operations.
- The project, RMX Mining, will utilize RMXI's CRISP platform to test real-time video streaming over ISM radio frequencies.
- This initiative aims to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity through a transformative five-meter cycle mining method.
Reticulate Micro Inc. (RMXI), a leader in advanced data compression and video optimization, has been chosen to participate in a groundbreaking grant-funded initiative. The project, branded as RMX Mining, aims to push the boundaries of semi-autonomous mining operations by leveraging RMXI's proprietary CRISP platform.
The initiative seeks to enhance tele-remote video capabilities within underground environments, a critical component for safe and efficient remote-controlled machinery. As part of the proof of concept (PoC), RMXI will test ISM band radio frequencies to facilitate video transmissions. The real-time video streaming capabilities supported by the CRISP platform are expected to validate the benefits of the five-meter cycle—an innovative mining method designed to redefine efficiency, safety, and productivity in the industry.
"We're proud to participate in this grant, which supports RMX's commitment to innovation in sectors where reliable, high-performance video transmission is mission-critical," stated Karl Kit, CEO of RMX. By building on its established success in defense and industrial applications, RMX is poised to transform underground mining operations with smarter and safer methodologies.
RMXI previously made significant strides in defense and industrial sectors with its video optimization technology, reducing video bandwidth, storage needs, and power consumption by up to 50% without compromising quality. This new venture into the mining sector marks a significant step towards digitizing the future of mining and potentially creating a new revenue stream as the company continues to lead in intelligent and efficient data compression solutions.
