Bill Gates (Trades, Portfolio)' daughter, Phoebe Gates, in collaboration with her former roommate Sophia Kianni, has launched an AI-powered shopping application named "Phia." This app aims to assist consumers in comparing prices of clothing, shoes, and accessories. It is now available on the iOS platform and can be used as a Chrome browser extension.

Once Phia is installed, users will see a "Should I Buy This?" button while browsing product pages. By clicking this button, Phia scans the web to compare prices of similar items, informing users if the current price is high, low, or within a normal range.

Phia leverages AI to analyze current market trends and compares over 250 million second-hand product data points from platforms like The Real Real, Vestiaire Collective, ThredUp, StockX, eBay, and Poshmark. For instance, when comparing the LV Graceful PM handbag, the app indicated it was "worth the price" at $1,950 and offered second-hand options from Fashionphile and eBay starting at $1,453.
