Baidu, Inc. (BIDU, Financial), a leading AI company with a strong foundation in internet technologies, has unveiled its latest AI models, ERNIE 4.5 Turbo and ERNIE X1 Turbo, at the Baidu Create 2025 conference. These models are designed to enhance multimodal capabilities and reduce costs for developers, promising to bring significant advancements in AI technology.
The ERNIE 4.5 Turbo is priced at just RMB 0.8 per million input tokens and RMB 3.2 per million output tokens, which is a mere 20% of the cost of its predecessor, ERNIE 4.5. Meanwhile, ERNIE X1 Turbo is available at half the price of ERNIE X1, costing RMB 1 per million input tokens and RMB 4 per million output tokens.
In addition to the launch of these AI models, Baidu has introduced Xinxiang, a multi-agent collaboration application capable of covering 200 task types, with plans to expand to 100,000 task types. The company also showcased digital human technology through its Huiboxing platform, demonstrating practical applications of their new AI models.
At the event, Baidu announced the AI Open Initiative and the integration of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to improve access for developers. This initiative aims to support the growing AI ecosystem and enhance the interface for AI services.
To further stimulate AI innovation, Baidu has increased the prize fund for the ERNIE Cup Innovation Challenge to RMB 70 million, doubling the previous years' prizes, and set an ambitious goal to cultivate 10 million AI talents over the next five years.
