This initiative is designed to assist astronauts aboard the International Space Station with their research activities in low Earth orbit.
The "Space Llama" project aims to reduce costs and computing power while improving the rapid response to maintenance issues or onboard anomalies. This will enable space research to be conducted without relying on internet connectivity from Earth.
