GULFPORT, Miss. — Hancock Whitney Corporation (HWC, Financial) shareholders have elected Albert J. Williams, a seasoned executive from Chevron Corporation, to join the company's board of directors. The decision was made during the annual shareholder meeting held on April 23, 2025.
Mr. Williams brings over 30 years of leadership experience from Chevron Corporation, where he most recently served as Vice President of Corporate Affairs. His responsibilities included managing government and public affairs, as well as overseeing reputation and social investment performance. Scheduled to retire from Chevron at the end of this month, Williams is expected to enhance Hancock Whitney's strategic operations with his vast expertise.
Chairman of the Board Jerry L. Levens expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment, stating, "Al is a proven executive with deep roots in our region and a remarkable record of leadership in the U.S. and internationally. Williams' career at Chevron began in 1991, where he held various key positions, including President of Chevron Pipeline Company and Managing Director of Chevron Australia. With a background in engineering and business administration, his academic credentials include a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University and a master's degree from Tulane University.
