Align Technology, Inc. (ALGN), a global leader in medical devices, has announced the commercial availability of its latest innovation, the Invisalign® System with mandibular advancement featuring occlusal blocks (MAOB), specifically designed to treat Class II skeletal and dental malocclusions. This advanced system is now available to Invisalign-trained doctors in the United States and Canada, showcased at the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session in Philadelphia.

The newly introduced system aims to address Class II malocclusions, a common orthodontic issue affecting approximately 30-45% of global cases. Such malocclusions occur when the lower jaw (mandible) is positioned too far back relative to the upper jaw (maxilla), potentially causing functional and aesthetic challenges if left untreated. The MAOB system is particularly beneficial for patients aged 10-16, providing an efficient and comprehensive treatment solution by leveraging their natural growth potential.

Notably, the MAOB system features integrated occlusal blocks, which ensure structural rigidity and enable vertical opening to facilitate earlier mandibular advancement in Class II deep bite cases. This innovation minimizes the need for multiple appliances and enhances treatment efficiency by simultaneously aligning teeth and correcting jaw discrepancies.

Align Technology's EVP of Research and Development, Srini Kaza, emphasized, "The Invisalign System with mandibular advancement and occlusal blocks is a direct response to the needs of orthodontic practices, reaffirming our commitment to innovation in orthodontics." The MAOB system not only meets clinical demands but also enhances the patient experience with improved comfort and compliance, utilizing the patented SmartTrack™ material.

Align Technology continues to expand its portfolio, offering advanced digital orthodontic solutions to empower doctors and improve outcomes for patients.
