Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CP), known as CPKC, has announced the certification of nine Site Ready rail-served locations across North America. This move is a part of the company's Room to Grow strategy, showcasing over 6,000 acres of developable land across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Developed in collaboration with Burns & McDonnell, a global engineering and construction firm, the Site Ready Program aims to transform underutilized land into prime industrial sites. These locations offer strategic proximity to major markets, ready-to-develop land with reduced timelines, and comprehensive CPKC support.
John Brooks, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of CPKC, indicated that these sites provide a platform for businesses seeking to efficiently build or expand operations, contributing significantly to economic growth through job creation and local investment.
The initiative builds on CPKC's existing projects, including a new auto compound near Dallas, the Americold cold storage facility in Kansas City, and a multi-commodity transload facility in Denton, Texas. These developments exemplify CPKC's commitment to attracting investments and fostering economic expansion in rail-served communities.
By strategically leveraging its network, CPKC continues to enhance its capabilities as a comprehensive logistics provider, aligning with industry trends and illustrating its ability to generate additional revenue streams through strategic land development. This initiative not only bolsters CPKC's position in the market but also supports long-term operational success for businesses across North America.
