(AMTX), a leader in renewable fuels, announced its Indian subsidiary, Universal Biofuels, began shipping 33,000 kiloliters of biodiesel to fulfill $31 million in orders from government-owned Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for delivery within May to July 2025. This marks a significant step in the company's commitment to support India's initiative to raise the biodiesel blend in fuels from 1% to 5%, aiming for a market potential of approximately 1.2 billion gallons.
In the fiscal year ending September 2024, Universal Biofuels completed biodiesel and glycerin shipments totaling $112 million. The Indian subsidiary has proactively enhanced its annual production capacity from 60 million to 80 million gallons and is planning to expand further into biogas production. Such strategic upgrades position Aemetis to leverage the growing demand driven by India's regulatory push towards biofuels.
