This strategic arrangement, unveiled on April 24, 2025, is set to address the escalating energy demands driven by advanced manufacturing, the proliferation of data centers, and population growth.
GE Vernova will manufacture these turbines at their expanded Greenville, South Carolina facility, which is part of a substantial $600 million investment in U.S. manufacturing. Of this, approximately $300 million is allocated specifically to their Gas Power business. This expansion will not only boost production capabilities but also generate over 1,500 new jobs, implementing lean manufacturing lines to enhance efficiency and capacity.
Duke Energy plans to install the new gas turbines at existing facilities, leveraging current infrastructure and transmission capabilities.
