Ecopetrol S.A. (EC) is set to introduce new leadership in its senior management team starting May 1, 2025. The company, prominent in Colombia's hydrocarbon sector, has appointed Julián Fernando Lemos as the Corporate Vice President of Strategy and New Business. Lemos, who has been with the company since 2017, brings 19 years of experience in strategy and business development, having previously worked with Mitsubishi Corporation.
Diana Marcela Jiménez will assume her permanent role as Director of Institutional Relations and Communications. Jiménez has 20 years of industry experience and has been acting in this position since January 2025. Her educational background includes an MBA and specialties in Business Administration and Electrical Engineering.
Julio César Herrera takes over as the Vice President of Commercial and Marketing. With over 15 years of sector experience, Herrera previously held roles such as President of Energy Group and Chief Financial Officer of Lewis Energy Group. He has been acting in this role since January 2025.
Ecopetrol, Colombia's largest enterprise, controls more than 60% of the country's hydrocarbon production and holds significant positions in petrochemicals and gas distribution. Internationally, the company has expanded its operations through its 51.4% ownership in ISA, enhancing its presence in energy transmission and infrastructure across South America, including the US, Brazil, and Mexico.
