Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) has announced the launch of its Frontline Network Slice, a dedicated 5G Ultra Wideband (UW) virtual network infrastructure designed exclusively for first responders. This initiative is targeted at over 40,000 public safety agencies across the United States and is currently available in 29 major markets, including Charlotte, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Atlanta.
The Verizon Frontline Network Slice provides several critical advantages such as dedicated 5G UW network capacity, tailored performance for critical applications, enhanced reliability during high network congestion, and flexible scalability for real-time resource allocation. This innovative service ensures that first responders have access to priority and enhanced quality of service even in population-dense environments or during periods of high network traffic.
Eligible public safety agencies will benefit from this service at the same cost as existing 5G UW plans. "The launch of the Verizon Frontline Network Slice is a crucial step forward in the evolution of public safety communications," stated Kyle Malady, CEO of Verizon Business. This launch underscores Verizon's commitment to advancing mission-critical communications for public safety personnel.
