Sinclair, Inc. (SBGI) has announced the retirement of Dave Schwartz, who has served as the Corporate Senior Vice President of Station Operations since 2007. Schwartz will officially retire on June 30, marking the end of a distinguished career that has significantly impacted the company's broadcast operations.
Schwartz joined Sinclair in 2004 as General Manager of WSMH-TV in Flint, Michigan. He quickly became a respected and strategic leader within the company, contributing to its operational strategy and local station growth. Over more than two decades, his leadership was instrumental in guiding Sinclair through periods of significant growth, innovation, and transformation.
Rob Weisbord, COO and President of Local Media, praised Schwartz for his exceptional leadership and deep understanding of the local broadcast business. "For over 20 years, Dave has been an exceptional leader, a trusted colleague, and a driving force behind our station operations," Weisbord stated, expressing gratitude for Schwartz's years of service.
Before his tenure at Sinclair, Schwartz worked as Vice President of Sales at WRBW-TV in Orlando from 1995 to 2002, and as Senior Vice President and Director of Sales at Seltel national rep firm between 1983 to 1995. Schwartz began his media sales career in 1979 with Petry Media.
In his retirement statement, Schwartz reflected on his meaningful experiences at Sinclair, noting the creativity and passion of his colleagues as well as the positive impact made through innovative content. He expressed appreciation for the friendships and support received throughout his career and looks forward to witnessing Sinclair's continued success.
