PureCycle (PCT) Achieves Milestone in Industrial Film Trials | PCT Stock News

PureCycle Technologies (PCT, Financial) has recently achieved significant progress in its trials using PureFive resin for industrial biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films. The trials were carried out by Bruckner Maschinenbah, a respected name in BOPP equipment manufacturing, at their German facility.

The tests involved utilizing blends containing 15% to 50% PureFive resin from PureCycle’s commercial plant in Ironton, Ohio. These blends were successfully extruded and demonstrated performance comparable to virgin polypropylene during multiple assessments. Initial results from stretch tests have been encouraging, and further testing is scheduled to continue later this month.

PureCycle’s CEO, Dustin Olson, highlighted the importance of this development, noting that flexible packaging constitutes a major segment for polypropylene. The lack of traditionally recycled materials that meet the high purity standards for film production makes this advancement particularly noteworthy. Olson emphasized the significance of collaborating with Bruckner, given their reputation and expertise, to ensure rigorous and reliable trial outcomes.

With these promising early results from the collaboration with Bruckner, PureCycle is poised to address the stringent processing demands required for high-quality polypropylene films. The company anticipates further developments as additional trials proceed.
