GeoPark Limited (GPRK), a prominent independent energy company in Latin America, has announced the appointment of Felipe Bayon as its new Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, effective June 1, 2025. This change in leadership follows the decision of Andrés Ocampo to step down from his position for personal reasons.
Felipe Bayon is a seasoned executive with more than three decades in the international oil and gas industry. His impressive career includes serving as CEO of Ecopetrol (EC) from 2017 to 2023, where he oversaw significant growth and operational success. Under his leadership, Ecopetrol achieved notable accomplishments, such as entering the U.S. Permian Basin and Brazilian ultra-deep water pre-salt play through strategic partnerships.
