This collaboration will see the opening of 40 Super 8 hotels in Spain and Portugal over the next ten years, starting with the first location in Leiria, Portugal, slated for Q4 2027.
The Super 8 brand, known for its economical yet quality accommodations, will address the rising demand for budget-friendly lodging options amidst a tourism boom in Spain and Portugal. In 2024, Spain reported hosting 94 million international visitors, contributing to a 3.2% GDP increase that year. Despite the significant surge in RevPAR by 142% since 2019, the region presents a 10% shortfall in budget brand penetration compared to other European markets.
Wyndham's investment strategy includes nearly $350 million in innovative technology to support franchisees, equipping them with cutting-edge property management systems.
