QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK) has announced the integration of its embedded FPGA (eFPGA) IP into Faraday Technology's FlashKit-22RRAM SoC Development Platform. This strategic collaboration enables post-silicon hardware customization, providing critical adaptability for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The FlashKit platform, leveraging UMC's 22ULP process technology, supports both Arm Cortex-M7 and VeeR EH1 RISC-V processors, catering to AIoT, consumer, and industrial applications.
This integration offers developers the flexibility to optimize power, performance, and area (PPA) for unique workloads at the edge, crucial for applications such as edge AI and real-time sensor fusion. QuickLogic's eFPGA IP, built on open-source toolchains, deviates from traditional proprietary approaches, potentially reducing development costs and enhancing design freedom.
