Hasbro, Inc. (HAS) has announced robust financial results for the first quarter of 2025, with revenue climbing 17% year-over-year. The growth was primarily driven by a remarkable 46% increase in the Wizards and Digital Gaming segment, attributed to strong performance in franchises like MAGIC: THE GATHERING and DUNGEONS & DRAGONS. The revenue in this segment rose to $462.1 million, enhancing its operating profits by 87% with an impressive operating margin of 49.8%.

Despite a 4% decline in the Consumer Products segment, the company outperformed expectations due to strong licensing performance. The Entertainment segment saw a 5% revenue decline, primarily due to deal timing, but maintained a positive trajectory with an adjusted operating profit of $17 million, compared to $18 million in the previous year.

Operating profits for Hasbro reached $171 million, with adjusted operating profit up by $74 million, totaling $222 million. The earnings per share (EPS) came to $0.70, with adjusted EPS at $1.04, reflecting a favorable mix and increased profitability. While operating cash flow was at $138 million, slightly lower than the $178 million recorded last year, Hasbro managed a substantial return of $98 million to shareholders through dividends and also reduced its debt by $50 million.

The Hasbro Board of Directors has approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.70 per share, scheduled for payment on June 4, 2025, to shareholders recorded by May 21, 2025. The company maintains its financial guidance for the year, focusing on core business investments and strategic financial management to cope with tariff uncertainties.

To discuss these results further, Hasbro has scheduled a webcast of its first-quarter earnings call for today at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time, accessible through the company's investor relations website.
