N-able Report Reveals the Future of the SOC Relies on AI, While Human Intervention Remains Essential | NABL Stock News

  • N-able's 2025 State of the SOC Report emphasizes AI's pivotal role in enhancing Security Operations Center (SOC) efficiency.
  • AI drastically reduces SOC analysis time, but human expertise remains crucial, with 86% of alerts requiring human validation.
  • 56% of threat detections originate from endpoints, while cloud-based detections are quickly closing the gap at 44%.

N-able, Inc. (NABL, Financial), a global leader in providing a unified cyber resiliency platform, has unveiled its inaugural 2025 State of the SOC Report. This comprehensive report throws light on the evolving dynamics within Security Operations Centers (SOCs), demonstrating how artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing security protocols by enhancing efficiency and trimming down analysis time.

The report, enriched with real-world insights from the Adlumin Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team, underscores the significant impact of AI tools. According to the findings, AI has shortened SOC analysis times, allowing for the extraction of indicators of compromise (IOCs) in as little as 10 seconds. Despite these advancements, the role of human analysts is underscored, as 86% of security alerts escalate into tickets, necessitating human intervention for validation.

Interestingly, the report also highlights that 56% of threat detections are sourced from endpoints, with cloud-based detections closely following at 44%. The need for account containment in nearly all cloud-based breaches further stresses the importance of cloud security measures.

The findings from the Adlumin SOC, covering the period from December 2024 to February 2025, reveal that AI can automate up to 70% of incident investigations and threat remediation activities, significantly alleviating the workload on analysts while reducing response times. During this period, the SOC adeptly managed nearly 500,000 alerts and raised 83,171 security escalations, with ransomware being a predominant concern, accounting for 2,684 threats.

As N-able continues to drive innovation, they will showcase their cutting-edge AI capabilities at the RSA Conference 2025 in San Francisco. Attendees interested in exploring these advancements can visit Adlumin at Booth #2233 in the South Hall.
