U.S. GoldMining Inc. Commences Metallurgical Testwork At Whistler Gold-Copper Project, Alaska | USGO Stock News

  • U.S. GoldMining Inc. (USGO, Financial) has commenced metallurgical testwork at the Whistler Gold-Copper Project in Alaska.
  • The testwork aims to optimize metal recovery, boosting current gold and copper recovery rates of 70% and 83%, respectively.
  • Base Metallurgical Laboratories in Kamloops, Canada, will conduct the comprehensive testing program.

U.S. GoldMining Inc. (USGO) has announced the commencement of metallurgical testwork at its Whistler Gold-Copper Project, located 105 miles northwest of Anchorage, Alaska. This initiative is intended to support the project's preliminary economic assessment (PEA) by developing an optimized process flowsheet for metal recovery.

The metallurgical testing will be conducted by Base Metallurgical Laboratories (BaseMet) based in Kamloops, British Columbia. The laboratory will undertake various comprehensive tests including the preparation of variability composites and a master composite from 2023-2024 drill core samples, feed characterization, and detailed mineralogy.

The testwork will also involve comminution testing to determine crushing and grinding processes, sulphide flotation testing for chalcopyrite concentrate, and gravity gold and cyanide leaching tests aimed at enhancing gold recoveries. Previous testwork in these areas produced promising results with gold recovery at 70% and copper recovery at 83% through conventional flotation methods, yielding a high-quality copper concentrate with gold and silver credits.

Through these efforts, U.S. GoldMining Inc. aims to improve upon these recovery rates and to gain new insights into the mineralization across different parts of the Whistler deposit. This will enable the company to refine its strategies for metal recovery and to optimize the flotation process specifically for chalcopyrite concentrate.

The Whistler Gold-Copper Project comprises several gold-copper porphyry deposits and exploration targets, covering approximately 53,700 acres in South Central Alaska. For additional information about the project, visit U.S. GoldMining's website.
