Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSM, Financial) has announced its next-generation A14 process, designed to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) transformation by offering faster computing and higher energy efficiency. The company plans to begin production of this process technology in 2028.
The A14 process aims to enhance smartphone functionality by boosting onboard AI capabilities and will support the development of high-performance computing solutions and new automotive features. Compared to the N2 process, which will enter mass production later this year, the A14 process promises a speed increase of up to 15% at the same power level, or a power reduction of up to 30% at the same speed, along with an over 20% improvement in logic density.
This technological advancement will strengthen TSM's position at the forefront of the semiconductor industry. As of the latest update, TSM's stock has risen by 4.1% to $157.56.
