Materion Corporation (MTRN), a leading provider of advanced materials solutions, has been chosen to supply its innovative SupremEX® metal matrix composite for the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) prototypes. Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. company, will integrate this lightweight yet high-strength material into the aircraft's components. This strategic partnership aims to enhance the performance of the new tiltrotor aircraft, which is designed to reach greater speeds and carry increased payloads, thus enabling faster and further reach to battlefields.

Clive Grannum, President of Performance Materials at Materion, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, "We look forward to working with Bell to equip the U.S. Army with a new aircraft design that provides greater reach and capability. FLRAA will play a vital role in U.S. Army operations, and SupremEX composites will help enable greater capabilities in operation by significantly reducing weight while maintaining high-strength properties for long-term reliability."

Ryan Ehinger, Senior Vice President and Program Director for FLRAA at Bell, also highlighted the project's impact, noting, "FLRAA will change the way U.S. Army aviators fight by providing significant increases in speed, range, and reliability.
