  • American Resources Corporation (AREC, Financial) and ReElement Technologies commit to U.S. critical mineral independence with their unique refining platform.
  • ReElement achieves over 99.5% purity in rare earth oxide production.
  • China's new export restrictions on critical minerals present growth opportunities for U.S.-based production.

American Resources Corporation (AREC), along with its subsidiary ReElement Technologies, has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing U.S. critical mineral independence through its innovative refining platform. This platform stands out as the sole U.S.-based solution capable of economically refining both heavy and light rare earth elements.

ReElement Technologies is at the forefront, producing magnet-grade rare earth oxides daily and achieving impressive purity levels, over 99.5% for elements such as neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium oxides. This addresses a significant bottleneck in the global mineral supply chain by providing cost-effective, scalable midstream processing solutions.

The announcement comes amidst China's recent imposition of export restrictions on rare earth minerals, including samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, lutetium, scandium, and yttrium-related compounds, effective April 3, 2025. These restrictions open new opportunities for domestic producers like ReElement, which is equipped with proprietary LAD chromatography technology. This technology provides environmental safety and lower capital expenditures, positioning ReElement favorably within the critical minerals market.

Mark Jensen, CEO of American Resources and ReElement Technologies, emphasized the company's strategic position in domestic supply chains, highlighting their role in ensuring U.S. mineral independence as critical under current geopolitical conditions. The company's focus on economically refining defense-critical and clean energy materials aligns with national security priorities and energy transition goals.
