Comcast Corporation (CMCSA, Financial) has launched its RISE Program in West Michigan, offering $3 million in grant packages designed to bolster local small businesses. The initiative aims to deliver marketing and technology makeovers to help businesses navigate the current economic climate.

The program was inaugurated with a panel discussion in Grand Rapids, featuring key speakers such as Grand Rapids Chamber President Rick Baker, Mayor David LaGrand, and Comcast Regional VP Craig D'Agostini. The discussion highlighted the significance of public-private partnerships in supporting local entrepreneurship.

Recent data indicates that 74% of small business owners in Muskegon and 53% of those in Kent County have reported rising costs as a major operational limitation. In response, the Comcast RISE program seeks to provide eligible businesses with essential technology, marketing support, and resources to overcome these obstacles.

The comprehensive grant package from Comcast RISE includes components like a technology makeover, creative production and media services, education resources, a $5,000 monetary grant, and business coaching sessions. Small businesses in the Grand Rapids and Muskegon areas can apply for these grants from May 1 to May 31, with winners being announced in August.

Craig D'Agostini, Comcast's Regional VP of External Affairs, emphasized the company's commitment to building on West Michigan's entrepreneurial growth, stating, "Comcast RISE offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity by uplifting eligible business owners in our community with direct support."

As part of Project UP, Comcast's broader initiative to create digital opportunities, the RISE program will benefit 100 small businesses in West Michigan. Further details, including eligibility requirements and application information, are available at www.ComcastRISE.com.
