  • Origen Resources (OGGNF, Financial) expands lithium exploration area by 3 square kilometers at Los Sapitos.
  • Company collects 66 samples for analysis, indicating increased basin complexity.
  • Geophysical exploration and Wishbone gold project slated for 2025.

Origen Resources Inc. (OGGNF) has successfully expanded its lithium exploration target area by an additional 3 square kilometers at the Los Sapitos Lithium Project in San Juan Province, Argentina. This expansion comes as a part of their completed exploration program, which identified new clay and brine targets extending far beyond the previously explored regions.

The program focused on a 5 kilometer radius around the Los Sapitos salar and has uncovered new evaporitic and hot-spring carbonate beds. These findings suggest a more complex basin structure than previously understood. In total, Origen collected 66 samples: 56 clay samples, 4 brine samples, and 6 carbonate rock samples, all of which have been sent to the University of San Juan for further analysis.

Looking ahead to 2025, Origen plans to conduct a comprehensive geophysical program over the newly identified areas at Los Sapitos. This initiative aims to better define the basin configuration and guide future drilling efforts. Additionally, the company will be advancing its Wishbone gold project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle, with both projects currently in the budgeting and planning phase. Funding will be sourced through asset divestitures and future private placements.

In a related development, Origen has decided not to proceed with the previously announced transaction with Integra Capital Business SA, following 15 months of unsuccessful negotiations. Despite this, the company continues to explore possible avenues for collaboration on the development of its Argentinian assets.
