StandardAero (SARO), a renowned independent provider of aerospace engine aftermarket services, has secured an agreement with Lion Air, Indonesia's largest privately run airline, to deliver maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) support for its CFM56-7B turbofan engines. This partnership underscores Lion Air's commitment to maintaining high operational standards for its fleet, which consists of over 100 Boeing 737-800 and -900 narrow-body aircraft.
The maintenance work will primarily be conducted at StandardAero's CFM-authorized facility in Winnipeg, Canada, where the first engine was inducted in December. Additional support is available from StandardAero's location at DFW International Airport in Texas, providing Boeing 737NG operators and asset owners with reliable and convenient service options.
StandardAero's expertise is demonstrated by its completion of over 1,000 CFM56-7B shop visits. This history, combined with its comprehensive service offerings—including component repair, engine and module management, and engine health monitoring—positions StandardAero as a valuable partner for Lion Air as they continue to expand their operations in Southeast Asia.
