XTI Aerospace, Inc. (NASDAQ: XTIA) has announced significant progress in the development of its TriFan 600 xVTOL aircraft program with key engineering milestones for Q2 2025. The company, renowned for its innovations in powered-lift aircraft, aims to redefine regional air travel through advanced point-to-point solutions.

Among the critical milestones, XTI plans to finalize its engine supplier, focusing on twin turboshaft engines, and select a drivetrain supplier, which is crucial to the aircraft's propulsion system. These selections will help solidify the aircraft's performance specifications, pivotal for future marketing to potential customers such as fleet operators, business owners, and EMS operators.

In partnership with Continuum Dynamics, XTI will conduct an external noise assessment to address certification considerations for vertical takeoff aircraft. This assessment is vital as noise limitations have historically affected helicopter operations in populated areas.

The planned first flight of the "Sparrow," a 1:15 scale unmanned model, is another highlight of XTI's roadmap. This subscale testing builds on previous models and will validate the new aerodynamic configuration, enhancing vertical and transitional flight dynamics.

XTI also plans technical familiarization briefings with the FAA as part of the ongoing certification process. This engagement with regulators ensures that the aircraft design meets the stringent standards required for commercial availability.

Looking ahead, XTI is set to launch another subscale model, "Kestrel," later in 2025 to further evaluate aerodynamics and flight control systems. The company intends to reopen pre-sales for the TriFan 600 by the end of 2025, allowing interested parties to secure their place in line for future deliveries.

With key phases like Preliminary Design, Critical Design, First Flight, and Type Certification in the pipeline, XTI remains committed to bringing its innovative TriFan 600 to the market, aiming to provide groundbreaking aviation capabilities.
