Granite (GVA, Financial) has received the prestigious Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Innovation of the Year Award for its AI learning platform, Granite Asphalt Guru. The award underscores Granite's leadership in infrastructure and its commitment to industry advancement through technology-driven training solutions.

The Asphalt Guru platform leverages an extensive internal knowledge base, comprising 900 pages of interview transcripts and thousands of documents, complemented by external data integration such as OSHA injury reports, DOT standards, and industry articles. This robust data network supports Granite employees by answering technical queries and offering interactive training, thus simplifying complex concepts for better understanding and efficiency.

Available as part of the company's Asphalt Basics E-Learning program and accessible via mobile devices, the platform provides flexible support to workers in the field.

“This award reflects Granite’s commitment to innovation and empowering our teams,” stated Olivia McNary, Granite Data Analyst and IT Business Partner. Granite CI Project Manager, Daniel Mekis, added, “It’s an honor to be recognized for a tool that preserves the expertise of our paving professionals. Their knowledge and experience are intangible assets for the company; finding a way to preserve and share it with future generations of construction professionals will provide value for decades.”
