Asian Markets Open Higher: Nikkei and KOSPI Show Gains

Asian stock markets opened on a positive note. Japan's Nikkei 225 Index rose by 1.7%, reaching 34,787.93 points. Meanwhile, South Korea's KOSPI Index increased by 1.4%, opening at 2,520.56 points.
