Five Rivers Cattle Feeding and Viserion Grain have formed a new partnership, 5V, to construct a state-of-the-art shuttle train receiver in Dalhart, Texas. This strategic development, set to commence operations in 2026, is aimed at addressing the growing deficit of feed ingredients in the Texas Panhandle region.
The project will be strategically integrated with Union Pacific's significant infrastructure investments, which exceed $10 million daily, to enhance supply chain logistics in the agriculture sector. Jason Hess, Senior Vice President at Union Pacific, emphasized their commitment to providing advanced solutions to meet the demands of the expanding agricultural market.
The initiative is supported by Pinnacle Asset Management, a New York-based firm focusing on global commodities markets. It aims to bolster local feed supply, create employment opportunities, and strengthen the region’s agricultural footprint. The Texas Panhandle, a central hub for cattle feeding, dairy production, and grain merchandising, stands to benefit significantly from this strategic investment.
With backing from Pinnacle and collaboration with Union Pacific (UNP), the 5V project underscores a significant commitment to the Texas Panhandle’s economic growth and agricultural sustainability, ensuring a robust supply chain through innovative infrastructure and technology.
