Navitas Semiconductor (NVTS), a leader in next-generation power semiconductors, unveiled a series of technological advancements in gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) at the PCIM 2025 event. Key innovations include the introduction of the world’s first 650V bi-directional GaNFast ICs with IsoFast high-speed isolated gate-drivers. These advancements facilitate a shift from two-stage to single-stage power conversion topologies, significantly impacting the EV charging, solar inverter, energy storage, and motor drive industries.
The automotive sector will benefit from the automotive-qualified GaNSafe ICs, which have met Q100 and Q101 standards, unlocking new levels of power density and efficiency for on-board chargers and DC-DC converters. This development comes with a comprehensive reliability report based on over seven years of production data, showcasing GaN technology's reliability for automotive applications.
Further enhancing power solutions, Navitas introduced its SiCPAK power modules, featuring epoxy-resin potting and GeneSiC trench-assisted planar technology, which deliver 5x lower thermal resistance. These are particularly designed for demanding high-power environments such as EV DC fast chargers and industrial motor drives.
Navitas also highlighted its AI data center power solutions, unveiling the world’s first 8.5kW power supply achieving 98% efficiency and a 4.5kW power supply with an unprecedented power density of 137 W/in³. These developments address the increasing demands for high efficiency and power density in AI infrastructure.
The introduction of the GaNSlim product line further expands Navitas' market reach, targeting consumer electronics applications up to 500W. Overall, these innovations demonstrate Navitas' commitment to driving the transition to cleaner and more efficient energy solutions.
