Warner Music Group (WMG) has announced a strategic partnership with prominent entrepreneur Anjula Acharia to launch a new joint venture label, 5 Junction. This initiative is focused on discovering U.S.-based artists of South Asian heritage and promoting WMG's existing South Asian artists in the American market. The label will operate in collaboration with Warner Records, and the teams at WMG India and 91 North Records, the latter being a joint venture between Warner Music India and Warner Music Canada.

5 Junction is set to leverage recent achievements in the South Asian music scene, including Diljit Dosanjh's record-breaking Punjabi concert in Canada and the breakthrough of artists King and Jasleen Royal on Spotify's Global Top 25. By tapping into Acharia's expertise in creating global platforms and cross-cultural careers, the venture aims to enhance the presence of South Asian music within the U.S. music industry.

Anjula Acharia, known for her role in launching Priyanka Chopra Jonas' Hollywood career and investing in startups like Bumble and ClassPass, will bring valuable industry insights to the partnership. This collaboration underscores WMG's commitment to tapping into the potential of South Asian music and expanding its reach in North America.
