FLOR®, a premium area rug brand, has announced the launch of Terra Nova, its latest addition to the carbon negative rug collection. This innovative design captures more carbon during its production process than it releases, aligning with FLOR’s commitment to become fully carbon negative by 2040. The Terra Nova style features distinctive colorways, Dune and Topaz, catering to the aesthetic demands of modern interiors.

Since the introduction of its carbon negative rugs in 2022, FLOR has sold over 39,000 carpet tiles, resulting in environmental benefits equating to the prevention of deforestation across nine acres or avoiding emissions from charging approximately 710,271 smartphones. This milestone represents a pivotal point in FLOR’s ongoing journey towards sustainability, demonstrating that eco-friendly initiatives can coexist with high-quality design.

James Pope, General Manager at FLOR, emphasized that sustainability is ingrained in the company’s DNA, stating, “When customers purchase our carbon negative area rugs, they are helping shape a more sustainable world.” The Terra Nova collection continues this ethos by offering the aesthetics and performance benefits expected of FLOR rugs, without sacrificing sustainability.

FLOR's strategy revolves around avoiding, reducing, and storing more carbon in its products than is released, while encouraging others to pursue similar sustainable practices. This approach has established FLOR as an industry leader in turning carbon emissions into climate solutions, reflecting the future trajectory of the flooring sector.
