  • SoFi (SOFI, Financial) expands retail investor access to private market funds in partnership with Templum.
  • New class of Cosmos Fund offers exclusive exposure to Anthropic.
  • 87% of surveyed investors show interest in private company investments.

SoFi Technologies Inc. (SOFI) has announced an expansion of its investment offerings, providing its members with access to a new class of the Cosmos Fund through a partnership with Templum. This new fund gives investors sole exposure to Anthropic, a move that broadens the availability of private market funds to retail investors.

The partnership also allows SoFi members to invest in the Pomona Investment Fund and the StepStone Private Markets Fund. This initiative is part of SoFi's ongoing strategy to democratize investment in private companies, which was traditionally restricted to high-net-worth individuals and large institutional investors.

According to a 2024 survey conducted by SoFi, over 87% of 5,000 retail investors expressed interest in investing in privately held companies, with particular interest in the technology, AI, and healthcare sectors.

Anthony Noto, CEO of SoFi, emphasized the significance of breaking down barriers to allow retail investors to participate in high-value investment opportunities. The move is set to leverage SoFi's reach combined with Templum's infrastructure to facilitate premium private investment opportunities for its members.

While the investment opportunities are restricted to accredited investors, interested SoFi Invest members can explore these offerings through the Invest section of the SoFi App. This development follows a previous SoFi and Templum collaboration in December 2024, which provided access to another class of the Cosmos Fund with exposure to SpaceX, alongside the Pomona Investment Fund and the StepStone Private Markets Fund.
