Ginkgo Bioworks (DNA), a leader in cell programming and biosecurity, has announced a strategic partnership with Aura Genetics to install its Reconfigurable Automation Cart (RAC) system at Aura's newly established high-throughput facility in Louisville, KY. This collaboration is set to significantly boost Aura Genetics' direct-to-consumer testing capabilities.
The state-of-the-art, 22,000-square-foot facility, strategically located at UPS Healthcare Labport near the Louisville airport, is designed for rapid sample processing and result delivery. With the deployment of Ginkgo's leading-edge automation technology, Aura Genetics anticipates processing tens of thousands of samples daily.
The partnership extends beyond technology deployment, encompassing joint protocol development, biovalidation, and comprehensive technical support. This agreement underscores both companies' commitment to innovation and operational efficiency, allowing Aura Genetics to accelerate turnaround times and expedite market introduction of innovative lab testing solutions.
