  • KULR Technology Group (KULR, Financial) received a $6.7 million grant from the Texas Space Commission.
  • The funding will support the development of cold-temperature lithium-ion battery solutions for space missions.
  • This project aligns with NASA's Artemis program, aiming to enhance battery technology for Lunar and Martian environments.

KULR Technology Group, Inc. (KULR) has been awarded $6.7 million by the Texas Space Commission as part of a $26 million grant initiative to bolster Texas' leadership in space exploration technology. This substantial financial support will be directed towards advancing cold-temperature lithium-ion battery solutions designed for future Lunar and Martian missions.

The project is being executed in collaboration with NASA Johnson Space Center and South 8 Technologies. The goal is to develop space-ready battery technology leveraging liquefied gas (LiGas) electrolyte, enabling the batteries to operate efficiently at temperatures as low as -60°C. These advancements will be integrated into the KULR ONE Space platform.

KULR's facility in Webster, TX, located in proximity to NASA JSC, will serve as the primary hub for engineering and testing efforts. This strategic location is expected to optimize development processes, providing key contributions to NASA's Artemis objectives by reducing heater energy requirements, increasing safety margins, and facilitating extended operations in deep space environments.
