This recognition places Lumentum in the top 1% of over 100,000 companies assessed globally by EcoVadis, a renowned business sustainability rating body.
Lumentum improved its EcoVadis score to 83 in 2024, up from 80 the previous year, reflecting its commitment to enhancing its environmental, ethical, and sustainable procurement efforts. These advancements are part of Lumentum's broader commitment to uphold high standards in environmental, social, and ethical governance.
In fiscal year 2024, Lumentum significantly advanced its environmental initiatives by reducing its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 38% compared to the previous year. Additionally, the company increased its procurement of renewable electricity to 79%, up from 61% in fiscal year 2023. Lumentum also started solar power generation at two major sites in Navanakorn, Thailand, and San Jose, California.
Lumentum's forward-looking environmental efforts were further solidified with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approving their near-term 2030 and long-term 2050 greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
