Starting from August 20, 2025, the airline will introduce year-round service to Phoenix, followed by Chicago O'Hare and Denver on October 4. Each of these routes will feature three daily flights.

Effective October 26, Alaska Airlines (ALK, Financial) plans to enhance its flight frequencies by 50% or more on several popular routes. For instance, the frequency on San Diego to Las Vegas, Sacramento, and San Jose routes will double to six daily flights from the current four. Meanwhile, the Salt Lake City route will see an increase to three daily flights from one.

Post the merger with Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines now offers 44 nonstop destinations from San Diego, surpassing any other airline. The expansion includes more than 90 peak-day departures and services to the East Coast, Northwest, California, Mexico, Florida, and all four major Hawaiian islands. This extensive network positions Alaska Airlines as a strong competitor in the Southern California market.

In addition to expanding their network, Alaska Airlines encourages new loyalty program memberships with limited-time promotional offers for California and Hawaii residents, providing discounts on their next flight.

Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Air Group, expressed pride in the airline’s ability to offer a superior travel experience and the most nonstop destinations from San Diego. The increase in service is aimed at meeting growing demand for their premium product and enhancing connectivity via the oneworld alliance.
