- Inyo Mobility selects Aeva (AEVA, Financial) as the exclusive LiDAR supplier for its autonomous shuttle fleet.
- Aeva’s 4D LiDAR technology offers 360-degree sensing with long-range object detection.
- The partnership enhances urban mobility with advanced safety and operational efficiency.
Inyo Mobility, a leader in urban autonomous transportation, has partnered with Aeva Technologies Inc. (AEVA) to integrate Aeva's cutting-edge Aeva Atlasâ„¢ 4D LiDAR technology into its upcoming fleet of autonomous shuttles. This collaboration aims to revolutionize urban transport by enhancing the safety, perception, and efficiency of Inyo's vehicles in complex city environments.
Aeva's 4D LiDAR technology is designed for full autonomy, providing simultaneous measurement of 3D position and instant velocity. This distinguishes between static and dynamic objects, like pedestrians and vehicles, even from a distance of up to 500 meters. The sensors' immunity to interference from sunlight and other LiDAR systems makes them ideal for urban and highway driving conditions.
The new Inyo CAB, a fully electric and modular vehicle, is engineered for sustainable urban mobility. It features customizable interiors and can be configured for either autonomous or manual operation. The 360-degree sensing capability provided by Aeva’s sensors ensures safer and more reliable navigation through city streets.
Aeva's Managing Director of Business Development, James Byun, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the synergy between Inyo's commitment to advanced autonomous transportation and Aeva's innovative perception solutions. This partnership marks a significant step toward more efficient and dependable public transportation solutions.
