Pentair plc (PNR) announced robust first quarter results for 2025, reporting sales of $1.0 billion. Despite a slight 1% decline in sales compared to the previous year, the company achieved a 16% increase in GAAP earnings per diluted share (EPS) from continuing operations, reaching $0.93. On an adjusted basis, the EPS rose by 18% to $1.11, showcasing the company's strong operational performance.

Operating income grew by 12% to $203 million, with a return on sales (ROS) of 20.1%, reflecting a notable increase of 230 basis points compared to the same period last year. Adjusted operating income also saw a 12% rise, reaching $243 million, and ROS expanded by 260 basis points to 24.0%.

The company witnessed varied performances across its segments. Pool sales increased by 7%, while Flow and Water Solutions sales declined by 4% and 5%, respectively. During the quarter, Pentair repurchased 0.6 million ordinary shares for $50 million, with $400 million remaining under its share repurchase authorization.

Pentair has updated its full-year 2025 guidance, with GAAP EPS expected to range between $4.27 and $4.42, representing a 14% to 18% increase from 2024. Adjusted EPS guidance remains unchanged at approximately $4.65 to $4.80. The company continues to expect flat to 2% sales growth for the year.

The firm also announced a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share, marking the 49th consecutive year of dividend increases. Pentair CEO John L. Stauch emphasized the company's resilience and strategic initiatives to mitigate tariff impacts and manage supply chain challenges effectively.
