The company showcased its industry-leading position in wireless service revenue, which increased by 2.7% to $20.8 billion despite experiencing a net loss of 289,000 postpaid phone subscribers.
Key financial metrics revealed an earnings per share (EPS) growth to $1.15, up from $1.09 in the same quarter of the previous year. Additionally, Verizon's net income rose to $5.0 billion compared to $4.7 billion in Q1 2024, and free cash flow improved significantly to $3.6 billion from $2.7 billion year-over-year.
Despite challenges in the mobility segment with a net loss of 289,000 postpaid phone subscribers, Verizon experienced robust growth in its broadband sector, adding 339,000 new subscribers.
