AECOM (ACM), a global leader in infrastructure services, has secured a significant position on Network Rail’s Asset Protection (ASPRO) support services framework in the North West & Central region of England. This three-year agreement, with the prospect of a two-year extension, will see AECOM provide extensive technical support to Network Rail’s ASPRO services teams.
The framework task involves ensuring the safety of railway operations amidst third-party and external organizational projects near Network Rail-managed infrastructure. AECOM will leverage its comprehensive program management, engineering, commercial, construction, and Project Management Office (PMO) expertise to mitigate potential risks.
AECOM’s collaboration with SLC enhances the project’s capacity, drawing on their established partnership and SLC’s extensive experience in dealing with third-party rail schemes. This new project builds on AECOM’s successful delivery track record, including notable projects like the West Midlands Rail Programme and the Northumberland Line project, which resumed passenger travel in December 2024 after six decades of freight-only operations.
