Rivian Automotive, Inc. (RIVN) has announced the appointment of Aidan Gomez to its board of directors. Gomez is recognized for his extensive expertise in artificial intelligence and data science, serving as the Co-Founder and CEO of the AI-focused startup, Cohere. This strategic addition is expected to bolster Rivian's efforts in integrating advanced AI technologies throughout its product lineup and manufacturing processes.

Before Cohere, Gomez contributed to Google's deep-learning division, Google Brain, where he worked alongside the Nobel Prize winner, Geoffrey Hinton. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Oxford.

Rivian's Founder and CEO, RJ Scaringe, emphasized that Gomez’s appointment is a significant step in integrating cutting-edge technologies within the company’s products and services.
