Appian (APPN) has announced the appointment of Serge Tanjga as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective May 27, 2025. Tanjga will report directly to CEO Matt Calkins. With over two decades of experience in the financial sector, Tanjga is expected to bring significant expertise to his new role.
Before joining Appian, Tanjga served as the interim CFO at MongoDB, where he was also the Senior Vice President of Finance. In this role, he led financial planning, strategic finance, business operations, and analytics. His broad background also includes serving as Managing Director at Emerging Sovereign Group, a Carlyle Group subsidiary, and holding leadership positions at Harvard Management Company and 40 North Industries.
Serge Tanjga holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was recognized as a Baker Scholar. His educational and professional background positions him well to contribute effectively to Appian's ongoing success in the software industry.
