UAV Corp. (OTC: UMAV) has announced the scheduled inflation test of its innovative DART SA-70 airship on April 24, 2025, at its Wewahitchka facility. This event represents a significant milestone in the company's roadmap towards finalizing system integration ahead of upcoming weight balance and flight readiness assessments planned for May and June 2025.
The DART SA-70, which stands for Detachable Airship Retractable Tether, is an advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crafted to support critical functions such as FEMA disaster relief, public safety, defense initiatives, and long-range communications. Among its features are the ability to perform tethered operations at altitudes up to 3,000 feet Mean Sea Level (MSL), untethered flights reaching 10,000 feet MSL, and a modular avionics platform equipped with dual-drone launch APOD systems.
The test event will not be open to the public but will host local government officials, members of UAV Corp.'s compliance and legal teams, and key industry stakeholders. This closed-door session will also double as an operational training exercise for new hires as part of UAV Corp.'s strategy to transition fully into test phase operations.
"This inflation test is a pivotal moment not just for engineering validation, but for the many mission-critical roles the SA-70 is built to support," said Michael Lawson, CEO of UAV Corp. "From disaster zones to defense corridors, the SA-70 represents a new class of aerial resilience and intelligence."
Additionally, the SA-70 comes with a modular APOD flight deck, tether-control systems, and is initially powered by four Rotax 912is engines. Future enhancements are expected to transition to hybrid-electric or hydrogen fuel cell systems, positioning the SA-70 as a versatile and forward-thinking solution based on input from significant potential clients such as FEMA, Homeland Security, and the Customs & Border Protection.
As UAV Corp. advances its technological offerings, it remains committed to creating shareholder value and is pursuing a Nasdaq uplisting to boost its market presence and investor engagement.
