JD.com (JD, Financial) founder Liu Qiangdong recently made headlines by personally delivering a food order as part of the company's new food delivery service. A social media post featuring a photo of Liu in a JD.com delivery uniform sparked attention, as he was seen holding a delivery order. JD.com confirmed the authenticity of the event, expressing gratitude for the public's interest and support.

Earlier, NIO founder Li Bin shared a photo of himself dining on JD.com-delivered food with Liu. Li mentioned that Liu was curious about NIO's new ET9 model and during a visit to JD.com's headquarters, they enjoyed a meal from JD.com's delivery service. According to Li, Liu emphasized JD.com's commitment to providing quality meals that are safe for everyone, including families and guests.

JD.com launched its food delivery service on February 11, announcing a recruitment drive for quality dine-in restaurant partners, offering a year of commission-free service for those joining before May 1, 2025. By March 20, JD.com had signed formal labor contracts with over 10,000 full-time delivery riders and was working on implementing social security benefits. As of March 24, the service reported over one million daily orders just 40 days after launching.
