SJW Group (NASDAQ: SJW), a leading national water and wastewater utility, has announced the appointment of Kay R. New as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective immediately. In her new role, New will be responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide initiatives focusing on talent development, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and performance.

Kay R. New joins SJW Group from Avangrid, where she served as vice president of rewards and employee experience, managing services for over 3 million customers across 24 states. During her tenure at Avangrid, New implemented comprehensive HR programs and technologies like Workday and ServiceNow, significantly enhancing the employee experience. Her efforts were instrumental in Avangrid's recognition as a Top Employer in the U.S. by the Top Employers Institute.

New's prior experience includes roles at SGS North America and US Bank, where she honed her skills in talent acquisition and recruitment. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - HR Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and completed the Energising Leadership Programme at ESADE Business School. Additionally, New is actively involved in community service as the Advisory Board Chair for Trust for Public Land in Connecticut.
