Visitors to any of Chef JJ's FIELDTRIP restaurants in New York City, including the Rockefeller Center, Morningside Heights, and Harlem locations, will receive a complimentary USDA Organic potted herb.
This initiative supports Edible Garden's commitment to its Zero-Waste Inspired® mission, which aims to enhance sustainability, food equity, and community engagement. CEO Jim Kras stated that the living potted herbs symbolize a sustainable gift that can be planted, nurtured, and enjoyed repeatedly, helping integrate sustainability into everyday life.
Chef JJ Johnson, known for his global flavor fusion and dedication to sustainability, sees this collaboration as an opportunity to inspire home cooking, waste reduction, and mindful food sourcing. He believes that fresh ingredients, like the living herbs being given away, elevate the cooking experience and encourage a connection to sustainability and self-sufficiency.
Edible Garden continues to advance its presence in the controlled environment agriculture space, offering locally grown and organic produce that aligns with contemporary consumer values. The collaboration with Chef JJ and FIELDTRIP highlights a shared commitment to bringing sustainably grown, culturally inspired, and community-rooted food to the public, enhancing access to fresh and ethically sourced ingredients.
